Twenty Years With Townes Van Zandt, by Harold F. Eggers

- I moved into TVZ's rural country home in Franklin, just outside of Nashville, TN. It was primitive and sparse in a valley of 3000 acres with only 3 homes. TVZ had been a friend of the family for 8 years leading up to this.
  As TVZ played gigs and recorded 'Flying Shoes', I was introduced to TVZ's inner circle of friends and associates in Nashville.
  First year working with TVZ, as road manager. Major national tour followed release of 'Flying Shoes'. I road managed TVZ at request of TVZ and Tomato.
  Tomato set up a tour with TVZ label-mate John Lee Hooker. TVZ and John Lee Hooker would alternate headlining appearances.
